right now i am....

i love the spring.  the desire to get out of the house and do something.  we have been working in our yard a lot and just playing outside.  unfortunately that means blogging has taken a back seat on my priorities.  even reading blogs....

but i always love blogging because it's recording our everyday lives.  pictures and events that can easily be forgotten.  but i don't want to forget.  blogging is an amazing family journal.

so, i'm going to do a little right now update.  meg and kimberlee have done these, and i completely stole this from them.  but it makes for such a good update, it thought, why not?

right now i am.....

watching:  prison break.  have you seen it?  we are watching it on hulu plus and are a little obsessed.  i go back and forth on whether i want to continue to watch it because it can be so violent.  but right when i say that, something happens to drag me back in.  plus, michael scofield is pretty fun to look at!  ;)

drinking:  water.  trying really hard to drink more water. 

wearing:  i got the new mason crew t-shirt from the gap and am totally obsessed with it.  i figure you can have a least 2 of the same shirts in different colors without going overboard, but i would get one in every color if i could.  

eating:  kimberlee's corn salad/salsa.  the hubs made it last night for a family dinner (per my instructions) and it was so good.  i couldn't stop eating it.  i'll have some for lunch today too!

 listening:  to needtobreathe radio on pandora. 

avoiding:  getting up.  we had a busy fun weekend, and now i'm tired.  plus it's raining.  i'm very content sitting here being "lazy"...

wishing:  i could get really serious about eating good again.  last year this time i was doing so well.  but i had motivation (my brother's wedding).  i need some motivation...

feeling:  torn.  we made a decision this weekend that i feel good about, but today i'm a little back and forth.  i know the decision is ultimately the best and only temporary, but i still feel a little torn.

missing:  my best friend cam.  she had her 3rd baby a few weeks ago and i am ready to go see them.  we just need to find some time that works for all us.

thankful: for my amazing husband and daughter.  we had the perfect mother's day weekend.  i've even had a mother's day month with little gifts here and there.  i can't believe how blessed i am sometimes.  he is too good to me.

craving:  donuts.  i probably crave donuts all the time.  i just had some saturday, but donuts are good anytime, right?

wondering: what book i should read next.  i just finished a series and always love/hate when that happens.  the hubs just finished love does.  i want to read it too, but he only has it on his ipad.  i need something i can read outside.  any suggestions? 

praying:  for our little family.  we have so much on the horizon.  i'm praying that God leads us in his direction and that we are good listeners to what he is telling us.

needing:  some time away with the hubs.  we are getting away this coming weekend and i am so excited!

thinking:  i need to blog more.  i miss this...

dreaming:  about this weekend.  maple hill manor bed and breakfast here we come!  it's such a wonderful little place.  we went here last year and said we would try to come back every year.  we love the owners and the area.  i can't WAIT to go back!!

 

loving:  the little girl my baby is turning into.  she is so helpful and sweet and ornery.  she is becoming more outgoing and is a little sponge.  she surprises me everyday with how smart she is.  she loves to dance and swing.  she knows what she wants, but is learning to be patient.  she has a sweet love and is so caring.  she is the best of her daddyboy and me and i am loving her little personality more everyday.

 well, there you go!


i hope every mom out there was spoiled like i was!  =)

our week in pictures

i tried to do an instafriday update yesterday, but it just didn't happen.

this is how the weekend started - daddyboy and C organizing all the pieces for a new swing set! 

by sunday night, she was swinging!

i can't wait until the weather stays warm and we can be out on this thing more.  it's got a fort, a rock wall and a slide!  a pretty fast slide too!  she's a pro at it now, but even i was kind of scared going down it at first...

the hubs didn't get the swing set finished on saturday because he had to stop a little early to be my date

first wedding of the year!  i love going to weddings, and we have a few this year.  C even get's to be a flower girl again in august.

the middle of the week was low key and random

monday morning picking "flowers" aka dandelions.  i just love this picture because of her hair.  she started out looking at me, then our dog started barking so she whipped her her head around right as i snapped it.  i don't know when i'll be ready to cut her hair...

wednesday we had lunch outside and then i continued to enjoy the weather while C napped!  my stack was a little too high, but it was still fun to try....

on thursday, i randomly decided to go to sonic.  not that exciting, but it makes me think of Craft Weekend, so i had to instagram and give a shout out to my CW girls.  and - seriously, if you've never tried their diet limeade, you should.  diet cran-raspberry limeade.  magical.  especially during happy hour!

i'm so thankful for early spring and our quiet neighborhood.  we are outside so much right now.  i'm proud of kentucky weather this year!

friday was a great day because i got news news that this little lady had arrived!!

avery-elise warning!  8lbs 3oz of perfection.  i can't wait to get my hands on her!!

then friday night, we headed out on a family date.

C loves dates.  she wanted to wear a dress and suggested i did as well.  we got ready and decided to snap a little picture.  daddyboy was looking good with these ladies on his arm....;)

today we are headed to a little friend's dance recital and i just know C is going to love it!  but it's rainy and cold here (ky weather has been usually nice....today's weather is more "normal" for april...), so i think we are going to attempt our first tent.

family pictures

a couple of weeks ago we had family pictures taken to capture C at age 2.

i couldn't be happier about they way they turned out!  honestly, i'm having a hard time deciding which ones to print. 

the photographer brought a feather duster - genius!  

seriously?  could this be any sweeter?!?!  closed eyes.  her little hand on her heart.  these two share a pretty special connection.  i love that it's captured like this!

this one is probably my favorite.  everything about it is wonderful.  the brick, her lips and eyes.  perfect!

we still have so many more great ones - but i'm saving those for our christmas cards.

camera phone picture dump

do you have a camera on your phone? i'm a little obsessed with mine. i'm always taking pictures of C or random things that i just bought and want to show the hubs when he's not with me. i didn't want an iphone, but got one through my job. and after having it for almost 2 years, i'm still not a good iphone user with apps or the ipod or stuff like that, but i LOVE the camera.

what do you all do with all the pictures you take? they aren't quality enough or important enough to print (most of the time), and they just hang out in there.

here are some random phone pics. this seems like a good place to dump them out.

she is letting me double french braid her hair! 1st of all - can you believe how much hair my 19 month old baby has? 2nd - elmo is a life saver sometimes.

on our way to florida. when i snapped the picture i thought "perfect - wonder how long this will last". answer - about 3 min.

this is my buddy man. i'm loving that the weather has been so nice, and i can pack up C and buddy and we can go walking at local parks and gardens.

first day at the beach. actually, first 20 min. at our condo. we were so excited we went straight to the beach and C got busy!

lunch in seaside. such a fun little place. C and i ate at a little stand that sold any and every kind of grilled cheese you could think of. so smart and yummy!

do you all do this? i'm a little embarrassed but i bet i'm not the only one who does this. i shop like this all the time with my best friend that lives 3 hours away. it's nice to have another set of eyes when you're shopping by yourself. "is the neck weird or cool? does this shirt make me look pregnant? can i wear this color? can i pull off these boots?" these are normal and frequent texts to each other. this is a dress i didn't purchase but love, love, love. the price tag was way too high. i shouldn't have even tried it on, but man - what a cutie! (the dress, not necessarily the model) =)

christmas cards from shutterfly

i'm crazy about stationary. i love cards, of all kind. thank you notes, birthday cards, christmas cards, you name it. so, i'm already thinking about christmas cards. i can't help it, i love stationary!

and then yesterday a co-worker sent me this:

huh? what? i'm in!

every year shaun and i take pictures and put them in our christmas cards. we usually just buy cute cards and then slip the picture it in, but i have always drooled and dreamed about beautiful cards from a place like shutterfly. but it's christmas, and we love buying gifts, so i save money. but this year will be different!

i've already looked through all their card choices and chosen my favorite 3. when looking through the cards i had a few things i was specifically looking for. the card had to say christmas, not happy holidays. i wanted a fairly simple design so the picture or pictures would be the main focus. and i want the card to be christmas colors. to me that is mostly reds and greens.

ok, here are my top 3:

simple design and i love the rustic look. and i like a big picture for the family and then small sides pictures for kids.

i know, it's got more than the "traditional" christmas colors in it, but i really love that MERRY is at the top.

i love the simplicity of this one. and i'm a big fan of monograms, so i get excited to see a C on that ribbon.
